Description
Spun Paper Balls ø 18 mm
This pack includes 75 white spun paper balls, each measuring approximately 18 mm in diameter. They are lightweight, sturdy craft shapes made from FSC-certified paper and manufactured in Germany.
The 18 mm size is a beautiful medium-small size for detailed craft work. It is large enough to be easy to handle, but still delicate enough for refined projects such as paper flower centers, handmade berries, ornaments, wreaths, garlands, and miniature decorations.
Unlike foam or polystyrene balls, Spunnys spun paper balls are made from paper. They have a matte, slightly fibrous surface that accepts paint, glue, dye, glitter, crepe paper, fabric, ribbon, and other decorative materials beautifully.

How to work with spun paper balls
Paint them
The white matte surface is ready to paint. Acrylic paint is a good everyday choice because it dries quickly, gives strong coverage, and is easy to find. You can also experiment with watercolor, ink, metallic paint, shimmer paint, or textured finishes depending on the look you want.
Glitter them
For ornaments or vintage-inspired decorations, brush a thin layer of craft glue onto the ball, sprinkle with glitter, and let dry. Fine glitter, mica, glass glitter, metallic glitter, and shimmer dust can all create different effects.
Wrap or embellish them
The paper surface holds glue well. You can cover the balls with crepe paper, tissue paper, fabric, ribbon, lace, trims, chenille stems, or other decorative materials.
Add wire or stems
Each spun paper ball has a small manufacturing hole on one side. This is normal for this type of traditional spun paper shape. The hole can also be useful when inserting floral wire, stems, picks, or other supports for paper flowers and handmade berry branches.
What are spun paper balls?
Spun paper balls are not made from cotton, and they are not papier mâché. They are made from paper that is formed into a solid shape using a traditional spinning process. The result is a lightweight but sturdy craft component with a smooth, matte, slightly fibrous surface.
They are a beautiful option for makers who want a natural-looking, plastic-free alternative to foam craft balls.
